Zompire Returns to Portland, OR
Anyone who’s a horror fan has undoubtedly heard of The H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival held in Portland, Oregon, which is now in its 13th year. Well, the promoter of that event has always wanted to show some other films that interested him … namely, those involving zombies and vampires. Thus, Zompire: The Undead Film Festival was born.
Founded in 2005, Zompire is experiencing rapid growth with a very enthusiastic fanbase. Their goal is to highlight creative attempts to show the undead in new and unexpected ways. The event takes place May 9-10, 2008, at The Hollywood Theatre, 4122 N.E. Sandy Blvd., Portland, Oregon, and the cost is only $10.00 per night. Everyone is encouraged to dress up with the best costumes receiving games, t-shirts, and magazines from the show’s sponsors.
On the schedule so far are 2004’s Dawn of the Dead remake and Hammer’s 1972 classic Vampire Circus. Do you have a short or feature length zombie or vampire film you’d like to submit? If the answer is yes, you’ve got less than a month to do so. The final DEADline for submissions is April 10th. For all the details, visit the official Zompire website.
Good luck!
