Dimension Grabs Hill’s Locke & Key
Usually I’m not thrilled when I hear about Dimension scooping up the rights for pretty much anything genre related, but I have to admit their output as of late has softened me a bit. So I’m actually happy they’ve got their hands on work from one of my faovrite new authors, Joe Hill.
Aside form Heart-Shaped Box, which is being (slowly) developed by Warner Bros., Variety got word this morning that Joe Hill has sold the rights to Dimension for his upcoming graphic novel series Locke & Key, which we last told you about “>back here.
Dimension snatched up film & TV rights for the story from IDW, which was created with franchise potential written all over it. Locke & Key is the tale of a group of three kids who become the caretakers of Keyhouse, a New England mansion full of magic and secrets. They discover doors in Keyhouse that take them to different times and places, even changing their skin color and gender, but one door in particular hides something very, very nasty.
The first issue of Locke & Key is in stores now (get it here!); look for the next one to come along on March 5th. We’ll be giving you more on Locke & Key and the developing Heart-Shaped Box very soon so stick around!
