Four Psychological Thrillers on Netflix That Will Mess With Your Mind

Secret Obsession Netflix
Brenda Song makes this face quite a lot in Netflix's Secret Obsession

Netflix is no stranger to psychological thrillers. This week, the Spanish-language miniseries Burning Body, which tracks the investigation into the death of a young police officer found burned in a trunk, topped the Netflix streaming charts. On the movie side, Jackie Chan vehicle The Foreigner has been violently commanding viewership since it dropped on the platform. TikTok user Sarasweirdworld has spotlighted several of the best psychological thrillers presently available on the streamer, guaranteeing they’ll, uh, really, really mess with the audiences’ minds.

Check out their picks below:

Among Sara’s four Netflix picks are Intrusion, a Freida Printo thriller about a home invasion and the secrets unearthed thereafter; Secret Obsession, a Brenda Song number about amnesia and (you guessed it) domestic secrets; In the Tall Grass, the Stephen King thriller that renders an ordinary field terrifying; and The Platform, a gnarly, gruesome dystopian social thriller. Check out the trailers for each respective entry below!

Intrusion

Secret Obsession

In the Tall Grass

The Platform

All four bring something new to the channel, solidifying Netflix’s commitment to expanding its swelling content library with something for everyone. Even if some of these aren’t for you, there is remarkable diversity on display, ensuring genre fans new and old, hardened or soft, will find something to enjoy.

The Platform is the easiest recommendation from the bunch. While its social commentary might be too blunt and queasy for some viewers, it’s an unpleasant (in the best way) descent into the gruesome horrors of capitalism and the innate inequity of contemporary society. In the Tall Grass is bonkers but fun, and with Intrusion, it’s always a pleasure to see Freida Pinto back on the screen. I haven’t yet checked out Secret Obsession, but as a bonafide Lifetime thriller fan, it looks to have everything I could want in a melodramatic, TV-14 psychological thriller starring a Disney Channel alum.

What do you think? Have you had a chance to check any of these out? Is there a Netflix psychological thriller you think Sara missed? Definitely be sure to let me know over on Twitter @Chadiscollins where I’m always crowdsourcing for hidden gems and missed thrillers to add to my ever-expanding queue.
