‘Demon Wind’ Set To Get Official Sequel [Exclusive]

Grime House Films and Teer/Mathis Productions, the award-winning team behind The Macabre, which won “Best Cult Film” at the Shockfest Film Festival, are thrilled to announce their latest horror project, Demon Wind 2: The Serpent’s Coil. Production on the teaser and funding trailer is set to begin in May. The Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign will launch in July, and principal photography commences in late fall or winter.
Director Eric Mathis said, “This really is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We are honored to be the first and only team to create an official sequel to Demon Wind in over 33 years!”
Demon Wind 2: The Serpent’s Coil will unite several high-profile talents, including acclaimed production designer Mick Strawn (Candyman, Blade, Nightmare on Elm Street 3 and 4), visionary director of photography Howard Wexler (Full Moon Features), and special FX maestro Joe Castro (Terror Toons series, The Summer of Massacre, The Barn Part 2). Mathis and Drake Teer of Grime House Films and Teer / Mathis Productions are producing the film with Mathis also serving as the writer and director.
In this chilling sequel to the cult classic Demon Wind, a team of occult researchers ventures to a rural area, where a suspected satanic murder took place at an old farmhouse, to uncover the secrets of the cult responsible. The team soon discovers that the murders are part of a much larger and more sinister force than they could have ever imagined. When a demonic artifact is found and accidentally activated, the team is plunged into a hellish, demon-infested world, where they must fight to survive or face a gruesome fate as part of the demonic legion themselves.
In his director’s statement, Mathis said:
“I’ve dreamed of doing this for so long. Like many of us, I’ve been a huge fan of the original Demon Wind since I was a kid, when my older brother rented it and I secretly watched it after he left it out. For years, I’ve been trying to track down the rights owners, and I finally managed to arrange a phone meeting and work out a deal to produce this film! My goal is to honor the tradition of the original, which had so many incredible and memorable creature and kill effects. We’re bringing the huge creature FX, loads of gory kills, and all the things we love as horror fans, and delivering them in a major way! We’ll explore the past, the characters, and their stories, and revisit the farm and Harcourt’s gas station, really play on all the things that made the original so great!”
The Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign for Demon Wind 2: The Serpent’s Coil will offer fans and backers exclusive perks and rewards, including limited edition merchandise, behind-the-scenes content, chances to be part of the film, and more. Fans are encouraged to stay tuned for announcements regarding promotional events leading up to and during the crowdfunding campaign.
