Luis Guzmán Will Now Play Gomez Addams in Tim Burton’s WEDNESDAY Series!

The one and only Luis Guzmán is now cast as Gomez in Wednesday, Tim Burton’s incoming television series.

The SAG award-winning Luis Guzmán is in final talks to snag the role of Gomez in Netflix’s all-new live-action series, Collider reports.

Guzmán’s roles include Boogie Nights, Traffic, Punch-Drunk Love, and Magnolia. He has also appeared in Carlito’s Way, Sweet Home Alabama, The Bone Collector, and The Taking of Pelham 123. Guzmán has also had his fair share of television roles, including HBO’s Oz, Narcos, Shameless, and Code Black. The guy has been in more classic film and tv properties than I can even count.

The Wednesday series hails from Al Gough and Miles Millar, the cult duo behind Smallville. The comedy series will be a supernatural coming-of-age moment starring breakout Jenna Ortega (You, Scream).

Wednesday will see its title character attending the Nevermore Academy where she will do her best to engage with her psychic abilities, end a murderous rampage, solve mysteries, and even encounter new friendships and romances. The synopsis gives me Chilling Adventures of Sabrina energy, and I’m not mad.

Jenna Ortega has been one to watch last year after giving a brilliant performance in You on Netflix.

The Addams Family has appeared on the big screen and small screen many times before.

John Astin originated the role in the original television series, but my all-time favorite casting goes to Raul Julia who played the character in The Addams Family and Addams Family Values

The Netflix series marks the first time Tim Burton has directed for television in a long while. The series has an order for eight episodes by Netflix and production company MGM Television.
