Amber Alert Issued in Texas for CHILD’S PLAY’s Chucky & Glen–No Really!

Subscribers of the Texas Alert System received messages to be on the lookout for a kidnapper named Chucky and his son Glen. No seriously.

Chucky was described as being 3′ tall and 16 pounds with red hair and wearing overalls; his age was listed as 28-years-old. Glen was described as being a 5-year-old weighing 6 pounds, standing just over 2′ tall. The alert came with a photo:

Deadline reports:

The [Texas Alert System] told television station KENS 5  that the alert “is a result of a test malfunction. We apologize for the confusion this may have caused and are diligently working to ensure this does not happen again.”

For those not in on the “joke”: Chucky is the lead villian of the Child’s Play franchise, launched by Tom Holland and Don Mancini in 1988; he’s voiced by Brad Dourif. Oh, and he’s a doll. Glen (also a doll) is his non-binary offspring, introduced in 2004’s Seed of Chucky voiced by Billy Boyd. No word on where Chucky’s wife and Glen’s mother Tiffany (voiced by Jennifer Tilly) was during this whole kidnapping ordeal!

Original Child’s Play mastermind Don Mancini is currently working on a Chucky TV series at Syfy.
