Jared Leto Would Love to Return for More BLADE RUNNER

Dune director Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049 featured Jared Leto as Niander Wallace. And today, Leto confirms he’s up for more movies set in the universe.

Leto tells Jake’s Takes: “You know, with every character I play, I don’t know if it’s because I work so intently and I tend to dig really deep and put a lot of time and energy into it, but when I’m done playing with them, done playing the parts, I do miss them a little bit. And you do all this work anyway, it would be kind of nice to go back and explore other [characters]. Like Niander Wallace in Blade Runner, I would love to play that part again as a prequel or something.”

The flick centered on a new blade runner who unearths a secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. His discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard, a former blade runner who’s been missing for 30 years.

Mackenzie Davis rounded out the cast as Mariette, with Dave Bautista as Sapper Morton, and Edward James Olmos as Gaff.

Villeneuve directed Blade Runner 2049 from a screenplay by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green based on Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick. Andrew A. Kosove produced with Broderick Johnson, Bud Yorkin, and Cynthia Sikes Yorkin. Warner Bros. Pictures unleashed it on October 6, 2017.
