Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp met each other back in 2012 on the set of director Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows. They sparked a friendship and today the shock rocker says he’d love to see Depp play him one day.
Cooper tells Yahoo!: “Johnny would be the best guy to play me. He knows me well enough where he could imitate me pretty well.”
Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows stars Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter, Eva Green, Jackie Earle Haley, and Chloë Grace Moretz and starts in 18th-century Maine, where Barnabas Collins presides over the town of Collinsport. A rich and powerful playboy, Barnabas seals his own doom when he breaks the heart of a witch named Angelique. Angelique turns Barnabas into a vampire and buries him alive. Two centuries later, Barnabas escapes from his tomb and finds 1972 Collinsport a very different place. His once-grand estate has fallen into ruin, and the dysfunctional remnants of his family have fared little better.
Rated PG-13 for comic horror violence, sexual content, and drug use, it sports a 36% on Rotten Tomatoes with this Critics Consensus: The visuals are top-notch but Tim Burton never finds a consistent rhythm, mixing campy jokes and gothic spookiness with less success than other Johnny Depp collaborations.
