Jason Blum Was Worried About HALLOWEEN KILLS Until He Saw It, Says “It’s Pretty Good”
Blumhouse’s Halloween Kills recently held its first test screening for an audience of around 200 moviegoers. Thankfully it was positive. And today Blumhouse head honcho himself Jason Blum says he has seen the movie and “it’s pretty good.”
Blum tells i09: “So we finished the second one and we’re about to start the third one. I just saw the second one. It’s pretty good.”
Blum adds: “I worried about it until I saw [the second one]. And David [Gordon Green, director] worried about it. That it would feel like, remember Lord of the Rings? Like you weren’t getting [the full story]? It doesn’t feel like that at all. [Halloween Kills] feels like a complete movie. There’s a first, second, and third act. It has a big end. You still know from the end of the second movie where the third movie is going, but the second movie ends in a totally satisfying way. So it doesn’t feel like, you know, that Lord of the Rings issue that they had.”
It stars Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode, Judy Greer as Karen Nelson, Andi Matichak as Allyson Nelson, Anthony Michael Hall as Tommy Doyle, Kyle Richards as Lindsey Wallace, Dylan Arnold as Cameron Elam, Robert Longstreet as Lonnie Elam, Charles Cyphers as Leigh Brackett, Nancy Stephens as Marion Chambers, and James Jude Courtney / Nick Castle as Michael Myers.
Halloween Kills is directed by David Gordon Green and produced by Jason Blum, Malek Akkad, and Bill Block. David Gordon Green wrote the script with Danny McBride and Scott Teems. The music will be provided by John Carpenter. Halloween Kills started filming back on September 16, 2019 and wrapped on November 3, 2019. Universal Pictures unleashes it on October 16, 2020.
Halloween Ends is all set to hit on October 15, 2021.
