HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES Scene-Stealer Michael J. Pollard Has Passed Away

We have some sad news to share with you guys today. It looks like House of 1000 Corpses scene-stealer Michael J. Pollard has passed away at the age of 80.

The beloved character actor was best known for his role as C.W. Moss in Arthur Penn’s Bonnie & Clyde co-starring Warren Beatty, Faye Dunaway, Gene Hackman, and Estelle Parsons, a role which earned him a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination.

Rob Zombie commented on his passing on Facebook, writing: “We have lost another member of our HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES family. I woke up to the news that Michael J. Pollard had died. I have always loved his work and his truly unique on-screen presence. He was one of the first actors I knew I had to work with as soon as I got my first film off the ground. He will be missed. I can’t believe all three of my friends in this picture are now gone.”

Back to the Future star Michael J. Fox whose real middle name is Andrew, took the middle initial “J.” as an homage to Pollard.

Other notable Michael J. Pollard films include Roxanne, American Gothic, Scrooged, Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland, Tango & Cash, Dick Tracy, Split Second with Rutger Hauer, and Uli Edel’s Tales from the Crypt episode “Came the Dawn” starring Brooke Shields and Perry King.
