Fans Want Today to be PREDATOR Day!

Horror and sci-fi fans celebrate Alien Day every April, but there’s no official (or even unofficial) date set aside for their intergalactic adversaries. Now, folks are looking to make today, June 12th, the official Predator Day! We spoke to Stephany Dewey who explains:

“Many of us are aware of annual Alien day back in April that celebrates the iconic Alien franchise and it always leaves a lot of us at a loss with the burning question: Why isn’t there a Predator day? I’m holding a fan based holiday on June 12th in lieu of, under the #predatorday2k19 to simply bring Predator fans together to celebrate this iconic franchise. I’m hoping if enough people join in maybe it’ll finally instigate 20th Century to create an official day sooner than later. Come join the fun as I will be posting all things Predator related all day long and be sure to also show your Yautja pride!”

While there aren’t any other events planned for today, Dewey is inviting Predator fans to visit her Facebook event page, HERE. It’s a first step towards building something larger and more enduring, and we applaud her efforts. Are there any other Predator fans interested in stepping up?

The Predator franchise launched in 1987 with the most recent installment, The Predator, dropping in 2018. There are also two Alien universe crossovers: Alien vs Predator and Alien vs Predator: Requiem.

Are you a hardcore Predator fan? Do you think today, June 12th, should be an official Predator Day moving forward? Let us know in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram! You can also carry on the convo with me personally on Twitter @josh_millican.
