New CHILD’S PLAY TV Spot is Pure Mayhem

A new TV spot for the upcoming Child’s Play reboot condenses a TON of vicious doll mayhem into 30 seconds of terror. Dubbed “Playtime”, I can’t think of a title that’s further from the truth. Nothing looks playful and fun here! Then again, I guess that’s kinda the point and precisely why I’ll be there opening night!
“A mother gives her son a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature.”
Child’s Play is directed by Lars Klevberg from a screenplay penned by Tyler Burton Smith; in addition to Hamill, the film stars Aubrey Plaza, Tim Matheson, and Brian Tyree Henry. It’s a complete reboot (computer pun apropos) of 1988’s Child’s Play, directed by Tom Holland and written by Don Mancini.
The film comes out June 21.
