Still Unseen in the US, POLAROID Develops on Blu-ray/DVD Overseas

When I ran into Child’s Play director Lars Klevberg at a press event last month, I asked for an update on his teen-centric horror movie, Polaroid. Slated to hit US theaters back in 2017, the film became collateral damage in the Weinstein scandal; when the company dissolved, a bank took ownership of the film, and nothing is known about when (or if) the Polaroid will see the light of day in America.

We’re getting word today, however, that Polaroid has developed in the form of Blu-rays and DVDs overseas. To date, the film is available to own in Austria, Germany, and Greece; it’ll hit retailers in Italy next month. If you have a region-free Blu-ray/DVD player, it might be worth digging up a copy online. As previously discussed, there’s no promise we’ll ever get a US release.

Check out the Blu-ray front and back below.

Check out the synopsis and trailer for Polaroid below. Klevberg developed Polaroid from his own short film of the same name. The film stars Kathryn Prescott, Tyler Young, and Samantha Logan.

Synopsis:
High school loner Bird Fitcher finds a vintage Polaroid camera that holds dark and mysterious secrets. She soon realizes that those who get their picture taken by it meet a tragic and untimely death.
