Jordan Peele Reveals THE TWILIGHT ZONE Episode that Inspired US

The fact that Jordan Peele is working on a reboot of the classic horror/sci-fi series The Twilight Zone should be proof enough that he’s a huge fan of the franchise created by Rod Serling in the 1960s. It turns out, the series made such an impact on him, his sophomore feature film, Us, was inspired by a specific episode. The details were revealed by Rolling Stone journalist Brian Hyatt as part of an extensive interview Peele gave the publication.

“[Peele’s] initial inspiration, appropriately enough, was the old Twilight Zone episode ‘Mirror Image’.”

Peele confirms this, stating:

“[‘Mirror Image’ is] terrifying, beautiful, really elegant storytelling,” Peele himself said of the episode. “And it opens up a world. It opens up your imagination.”

In “Mirror Image”:

Synopsis:
While waiting in a bus station, Millicent Barnes (Vera Miles) has the strange feeling that her doppelganger is trying to take over her life.
