Danielle Harris Shares Pic of New Baby Boy & Scary Details About His Birth

Though she wasn’t part of Blumhouse’s recent reboot, actress Danielle Harris is a huge part of the Halloween franchise launched be John Carpenter in 1978. She played Jamie Lloyd in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers and Halloween 5 in addition to playing Annie Brackett in Rob Zombie’s Halloween and Halloween II. Other appearances in films like Hatchet II, Hatchet III, and Victor Crowley have made her a bona fide 21st Century Scream Queen.

Harris gave birth to her second son, Jagger Maxwell Gross, on October 8th but only recently shared the news with her followers on Facebook and Instagram. The private time was necessary, the actress explained, because of some complications during childbirth. Read all about it below:

“Introducing… Jagger Maxwell Gross Born 10/8/2018! Mommy and Daddy are so lucky to be able to add you to our family. We are a fierce 4some now and can’t wait to watch you grow and live this life as our baby boy and little brother to the BEST big brother a boy could ask for!!

“Giving birth is the most dangerous thing a woman can do in her lifetime…after my traumatic birth experience this time around, it took me a while to share a photo with the world. Time was really needed to clear my head and bond with my baby just he and I in our own private little bubble. After having a horrible eclampsia seizure on the operating table when my blood pressure bottomed and I blacked out, I saw moments of my life flashing before me in fast forward and I missed the birth of my baby. Needless to say, that was the closest to a near death experience as I’d ever come in real life. I am forever grateful and blessed whether it be G-d or something/someone else (thank you Gram, Dad, Thor) that a higher power stepped in that day and intervened what could have been the end of the road for me. Dying during childbirth was definitely not on my list of ways I thought I would leave this world and I’m glad to cross that possibility off my list. Women are warriors and I’m looking forward to being around many more years soaking up all these precious moments with my baby boys and family. After lots of tests I’m glad to say I have no damage to my brain and am ready to be the best mommy these boys could ask for. Life is short. You never know when your number is gonna be up, so take time to enjoy what matters most. Love one another and love yourself because the world wouldn’t be the same without you…”

According to Wikipedia:

“Eclampsia is the onset of seizures (convulsions) in a woman with pre-eclampsia. Pre-eclampsia is a disorder of pregnancy in which there is high blood pressure and either large amounts of protein in the urine or other organ dysfunction.[7][8] Onset may be before, during, or after delivery.[1] Most often it is during the second half of pregnancy. The seizures are of the tonic–clonic type and typically last about a minute.[1] Following the seizure there is typically either a period of confusion or coma. Complications include aspiration pneumonia, cerebral hemorrhage, kidney failure, and cardiac arrest. Pre-eclampsia and eclampsia are part of a larger group of conditions known as hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.”

Yikes!

Harris has been married to David Gross since January 4th, 2014; their first son, Carter Davis Gross, was conceived via IVF and born in 2017. Harris has two films in post-production: Come, Said the Night and Camp Cold Blood.
