Sony & Krikey Team Up for GOOSEBUMPS 2 Augmented Reality Gaming App

Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween hits theaters nationwide this weekend and, as part of the film’s final promotional push, the folks at Sony and Krikey have teamed up on a new AR gaming app. Since the film revolves around the mischievous exploits of the ventriloquist’s dummy Slappy, fans will have a chance to face the diminutive fiend in the Trap Slappy Challenge, available today!
Two additional Goosebumps 2 themed apps will be released something this week as well. You can check out a trailer for the Trap Slappy Challenge below, followed by the synopsis and trailer for Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween (starring Wendi McLendon-Covey, Jack Black, and Madison Iseman).

SAN FRANCISCO – October 8, 2018 — Krikey, an Augmented Reality (AR) mobile gaming application where users can play 3D games that interact with the real world, today announced its partnership with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment for a Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween AR takeover. Krikey will bring the Goosebumps villain, Slappy the ventriloquist dummy, to life with three AR games, with the first game, Trap Slappy Challenge, launching today. The two additional AR games are set to release during the home entertainment window.
Krikey, currently available on the App Store and Google Play, is the first to market with multi-player AR games built on AR Foundation – an SDK toolkit by Unity that combines ARKit from Apple and ARCore from Google.
The Trap Slappy Challenge game will include blocks made of Goosebumps books. You must stack books on the shelf as fast as you can and place Slappy back inside his story before the clock runs out.
Synopsis:
While collecting junk one day, best friends Sonny and Sam meet Slappy, a mischievous talking dummy from an unpublished “Goosebumps” book by R.L. Stine. Hoping to start his own family, Slappy kidnaps Sonny’s mother and brings all of his ghoulish friends back to life — just in time for Halloween. As the sleepy town becomes overrun with monsters, witches and other mysterious creatures, Sonny joins forces with his sister, Sam and a kindly neighbor to save Sonny’s mom and foil Slappy’s plan.
