HAPPY DEATH DAY 2 Snags Silly New Title

One of the films I’m most looking forward to checking out as soon as possible is Blumhouse’s upcoming Happy Death Day sequel. I was (surprisingly) a big fan of the original PG-13 slasher and now I’m counting down the days until more time-jumping slashes head our way.

And speaking of which, today we learned via Variety that the sequel is officially called Happy Death Day 2U (get it?)

What do you think of the new title? Make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think in the comments section or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

Writer-director Christopher Landon is back with Jason Blum producing. Angela Mancuso, John Baldecchi, and Samson Mucke are executive producers. Jessica Rothe returns along with Ruby Modine and Israel Broussard. New cast includes Suraj Sharma and Sarah Yarkin. It hits on Valentine’s Day 2019.

Synopsis:

Tree Gelbman is a blissfully self-centered collegian who wakes up on her birthday in the bed of a student named Carter. As the morning goes on, Tree gets the eerie feeling that she’s experienced the events of this day before. When a masked killer suddenly takes her life in a brutal attack, she once again magically wakes up in Carter’s dorm room unharmed. Now, the frightened young woman must relive the same day over and over until she figures out who murdered her.
