THE CONJURING 3 Will Start Filming in 2019

We recently brought you details regarding Annabelle 3, another spinoff from The Conjuring universe that will be lauded screenwriter Gary Dauberman’s directorial debut. Now, we’re hearing that The Conjuring 3 is also gearing up with franchise producer Peter Safran telling CinemaBlend the further adventures of demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren (played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga respectively) will be going before cameras sometime in 2019.

“[The Conjuring 3] is actually coming along great. David Lindsay Johnson is working on the screenplay, and I feel pretty confident they will have that one up and running next year.”

Sure, that’s a pretty broad period of time, but considering the film doesn’t even have a director attached it makes sense that Safran is speaking in generalities. Unlike the spinoffs which have all been prequels to 2013’s The Conjuring, we expect The Conjuring 3 to pick up after the events The Conjuring 2, released in 2016 and set in 1977. Of course, we’ll keep you updated as additional details emerge.

In the meantime, you can check out the synopsis and trailer for The Nun, which enjoyed a record-breaking weekend following its release on Friday.

Synopsis:
When a young nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania takes her own life, a priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate.
