MALEVOLENCE 3 w/ Adrienne Barbeau Complete and Hits this Halloween

It’s been years since writer-director Stevan Mena brought us his feature debut Malevolence and his prequel Bereavement. But today we have word that Mena will finally be closing out his trilogy with the third (and final?) film of the series.

Yes, Mena has just let Arrow in the Head know that he has found a way to complete Malevolence 3: Killer despite the film being canceled following the death of lead actor Scott Decker. And the film is now set to be released later this year.

It was difficult to continue after Scott’s tragic death,” Mena told the site. “But so many good people worked very hard on this film. I needed to somehow find a way to finish it. Through some creative rewrites, additional casting, and the crew agreeing to take a deferred salary, we were able to not only complete the picture but even retain some of Scott’s great performance as well.”

Check out the poster for the new film to the right and then make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

Picking up immediately after the events of the first film, the new sequel sets Martin loose on suburbia. It stars Katie Gibson, Adrienne Barbeau, and Kevin McKelvy. Malevolence 3: Killer hits theatres and VOD, DVD, and Blu-ray this October.

Synopsis:

Kidnapped, tortured, and abused at the hands of his psychotic captor, Graham Sutter, Martin Bristol knows only one thing – murder. On the run, lurking in the shadows of suburbia, he stalks and kills without remorse. Special Agent William Perkins follows Martin’s trail of terror, desperate to capture him before he kills again. Martin’s family, mourning his disappearance for over 10 years, is informed that not only is he still alive, he’s responsible for the wave of murder sweeping through their town. Will they be able to reunite with their long lost son before it’s too late, or will Perkins have no choice but to use excessive force to bring Martin down?
