Hulu’s CASTLE ROCK Will Be Filled With Stephen King Easter Eggs

CASTLE ROCK - Teaser (screen grab) CR: BAD ROBOT PRODUCTIONS

This July we will finally be able to visit Stephen King’s Castle Rock again via an all-new Hulu series from J.J. Abrams. And as you might imagine, the show is set to be filled with King easter eggs.

But not too many.

The impulse was to try to write a show that can be fun and pleasurable for somebody who has no experience reading Stephen King but also to satiate people who want to nerd out,” co-showrunner Sam Shaw told THR. “There’s definitely some Ph.D.-level deep-cut [references].”

We’ve seen things that are so packed full with Easter eggs that it becomes kind of dizzying,” Co-showrunner Dustin Thomason adds. “It was important to us [that the references] all had meaning.”

Sounds like a plan to me! How excited are YOU for this new Stephen King series? Make sure to hit us up and let us know in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

The series stars André Holland, Melanie Lynskey, Sissy Spacek, Bill Skarsgård, Jane Levy and Scott Glenn. Sam Shaw & Dustin Thomason developed the project for television and serve as executive producers along with J.J. Abrams, Ben Stephenson, and Liz Glotzer. It’s from Bad Robot Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.

The first three episodes of the 10-episode first season will be premiering all at once on Hulu Wednesday, July 25th!

Synopsis:

A psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, Castle Rock is an original story that combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland.
