E3 2018: Dontnod Entertainment Announce Supernatural Murder Mystery TWIN MIRROR

With Vampyr having just been released to strong reviews, developer Dontnod Entertainment have revealed at their next game, an interactive murder Mystery titled Twin Mirror, at Sony’s ‘Countdown to E3’ event.
The game’s plot follows a journalist named Sam who returns to his rural hometown of Basswood, West Virginia so that he can attend the funeral of his best friend, although he finds himself thrust into an even worse situation when he wakes up in his hotel room lying next to a dead woman and with no memory of the previous night. You’ll have to desperately search the town for clues as to what really happened before being framed for murder, before discovering that even stranger elements may be at play.
Similar to Twin Peaks and Stranger Things, Twin Mirror gives off prominent vibes of strange goings on in a small rural town, whilst the narrative drama focused gameplay is strongly reminiscent of Quantic Dream titles such as Indigo Prophecy and Heavy Rain. It remains to be seen if there will be any combat in the game, although we can see from footage of Sam walking through a strange dreamlike environment at 1:14 in the trailer that there will certainly be supernatural elements. There’s also no word on the voice cast, but judging from what we heard in the trailer, we should be in for some strong performances.
Bandai Namco will publish Twin Mirror on PS4, Xbox One, and PC next year, marking their first collaboration with Dontknod.
