Paul Feig’s GHOSTBUSTERS 2 May Still Happen

A few years back now we were hit with director Paul Feig’s all-female reboot of Ghostbusters starring Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy. The film wasn’t a huge hit, but all the same, are there plans for a sequel?
“We would love [to make another movie],” Feig told Yahoo! “It’s really up to the studio. We had so much fun making that movie. The movie’s just really built an audience in the two years since it’s been out.”
He continues: “I get contacted every day by people who are such fans of it, and so many women who are inspired by seeing women in science. I will go to my grave so proud of that movie, and so proud of what that cast did in that film.”

Synopsis:
Paranormal researcher Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy) and physicist Erin Gilbert are trying to prove that ghosts exist in modern society. When strange apparitions appear in Manhattan, Gilbert and Yates turn to engineer Jillian Holtzmann for help. Also joining the team is Patty Tolan, a lifelong New Yorker who knows the city inside and out. Armed with proton packs and plenty of attitude, the four women prepare for an epic battle as more than 1,000 mischievous ghouls descend on Times Square.
