You want retro-cool? Look no further than Eibon Press’ upcoming line of VHS Comics! Read on to have your friggin’ mind blown.
From the Press Release:
Eibon Press’ VHS Comics imprint is coming, kids! Maniac and Laserblast both go on sale October 13th! They both ship in November and are guaranteed to be in your hands long before the holidays!
We always take it to the next level here at Eibon Press, and our VHS Comics line is going to blow your goddamn minds! Check out these incredible VHS boxes that come inside each signature edition!
The EXCLUSIVE ART on the front of the MANIAC VHS sleeve was specially commissioned from our house artist PAT CARBAJAL and features Joe Spinell as FRANK ZITO, facing off against his undead mother in an incredible new hallucination sequence from the comic story, which expands and deepens the classic film!
THE BACK COVER is designed to pay homage to the original MEDIA HOME VIDEO VHS release of MANIAC, right down to the last little detail, with awesome new comic book art . . . and each sleeve is signed by writer/editor Stephen Romano, who also personally designed the sleeve, right from his own VHS home video collection!
LASERBLAST also showcases some stunning new art by Pat Carbajal based on the classic film. EVERY PIECE OF COVER ART COMMISSIONED FOR EACH VHS SLEEVE is all-new, created especially for the sleeve. You can’t get it anywhere else!
The BACK OF THE LASERBLAST sleeve pays homage to MEDIA HOME VIDEO’s first age, when they began in the early 1980s! It’s just like the original release of LASERBLAST on video—except we’ve run it through a super cool comic book makeover! The printing and manufacturing on these babies is super deluxe; each VHS box comes fully assembled and shipped flat inside your Eibon sleeve along with your comic book, so you can put it together and display it proudly!
Check out the comic covers too! We hope to see you in our store on October 13th at 7pm Pacific: EibonPress.Com
