G.P. 506 in Limbo
We first gave you word about R-Point director Kong Su-chang’s latest film, G.P. 506, back here and at the time it sounded like everything was on track for another solid war/horror movie from the successful director.
Now, with 70% of shooting done, the pic has been ground to a halt as the filmmakers search for a new production house to front the money needed for the rest of filming according to Variety. Motis were the ones behind it originally, but a lot of behind-the-scenes fighting over cost have caused theme to freeze their funds.
What a nightmare that must be, especially considering it doesn’t sound like the film itself has anything to do with Motis pulling out. The good news is their in talks with several production houses to finish the film, and moviemaking is so huge in Korea now that I doubt it will be long before cameras are rolling again.
