There are lots of projects coming out of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival this year, including offerings from all over the world. Two of them have hit our horror radar, and we’ve got the goods on both for you!
According to Screen Daily Ecosse Films is producing the story of a werewolf in a British seaside town. We’ve never seen one of those before! UK sales outfit WestEnd Films has added Love Bite, a teen horror-comedy to be directed by BAFTA-winning Andy de Emmony (West is West), to its Cannes slate.
Love Bite, currently in pre-production, starts shooting in September in Wales from a screenplay by Ronan Blaney and Cris Cole.
Synopsis
School is out, and the holidays have begun in the gloomy seaside town of Rainmouth. Forced to work at his pot-head mother’s B&B and to hear about his four horny friends’ sexploits, 18-year-old Jamie is desperate to escape. That is until he meets Juliana, a mysterious and beautiful American traveler. But there’s a more sinister newcomer in town: a werewolf preying on virgins – and Rainmouth becomes a hunting ground.
Screen Daily also reports that the Thai production and sales outfit Five Star Production will be unleashing the 3D horror film Dark Flight. One of the first 3D films to emerge from Thailand, Dark Flight is being put together by the seven filmmakers who co-directed hit horror film Art Of The Devil 2. One of the seven, Kongkiat Komesiri, wrote the script, while another, Issara Nadee, is directing. The film, which is scheduled for release in Thailand this autumn, “follows a flight attendant who is haunted by the victims of plane crashes.”
Look for more on both of these soon.
