Heavy Rain Adaptation Finds a Writer

Anyone who has played the Playstation 3 serial killer on the loose game Heavy Rain (review here) knows how dark, scary, and overall insane this remarkable piece of software can be.

Last May we reported that a film adaptation is in the works, and today a writer has been named. According to Variety David Milch (“Deadwood”, “NYPD Blue”) is heading into Heavy Rain, signing to adapt the noir-style video game with Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne producing through their Unique Features banner.

Heavy Rain, based on the Sony Computer Entertainment game released last year, spans four days of mystery and centers on the hunt for a murderer known as the Origami Killer. Four characters, each following his/her own leads and with his/her own motives, take part in a desperate attempt to prevent the killer from claiming a new victim with each character’s decisions affecting the plans of the other three.
