Developer Red Barrels confirmed on Twitter that that their highly anticipated sequel Outlast 2 will be released on PC and consoles on April 25th.

And that’s not all. In addition to standard editions, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will also be distributing a console-only physical bundle of both Outlast and Outlast II, plus the first game’s Whistleblower DLC, as reported by Business Wire. Titled Outlast Trinity, it will be released for $39.99, whilst standard digital copies of Outlast 2 will cost $29.99.

The original Outlast sold over 4 million copies worldwide, making it one of the bestselling indie horror games of all time. So it’s no surprise that Warner Bros. took an interest in the franchise, and I hope that their collaboration with Red Barrels is the start of many great things to come.

Synopsis:
Outlast 2 is the sequel to the acclaimed survival horror game Outlast. Set in the same universe as the first game, but with different characters and a different setting, Outlast 2 is a twisted new journey into the depths of the human mind and its dark secrets.

No conflict is ever black and white. But once the dust has settled, the victors get to decide who was right and who was wrong. Who is good and who is evil. Human nature pushes us to extremes of violence and depravity, which we then justify by divine inspiration and a promise of paradise to come. Horror rises from desperation and blind faith. OUTLAST 2 will test your faith, pushing players to a place where going mad is the only sane thing to do.
