Aliens: Colonial Marines Back on Track?

According to IGN UK, Gearbox will FINALLY give us fans SOME kind of a reveal of Aliens: Colonial Marines “sometime soon”. Alan Pritchard (SEGA’s VP of Sales and Marketing) told Game Informer that “Colonial Marines is still on, we’ve been working closely with Gearbox behind the scenes, and we’ll be able to tell you a lot about that in the next couple of months. It won’t be November 11th (as previously promised). We haven’t announced a date yet.

YET.

In Aliens: Colonial Marines players are part of a United States Colonial Marine squad facing an Aliens assault more intense and horrific than ever before and destroying their enemy with classic Aliens weaponry: pulse rifles, flamethrowers, etc, as well as brand-new equipment.

(SWEET!)

Aliens: Colonial Marines features a story-driven single-player mode and a four-player co-op mode, in which players share the chilling experience with three friends; each player assumes the persona of a USCM soldier and has a distinct role to play in the completion of every mission.

(SUPER SWEET!!)

Aliens: Colonial Marines has officially been in development at Gearbox since 2006 with a 2008 ship date which was THEN pushed to 2009 and THEN … nothing. Nada. Zip. And with Gearbox’s current preoccupation being Duke Nukem Forever (another title that almost never was), it remains to be seen exactly WHAT it is we’re going to see with A:CM and HOW LONG it will actually take to see it. Took them what, over 13 YEARS to FINALLY make Duke Nukem Forever?

I await with bated breath but I sure ain’t holding it. That’s right, I said ‘bated’. Fight me.
