Tokyo Game Show 2016: Monster Hunter Getting the Hollywood Treatment

Whilst promoting Monster Hunter Stories, an entry in Capcom’s 32 million selling giant monster RPG series geared towards kids at the Tokyo Game Show, producer Ryozo Tsujimoto dropped one huge tidbit of information: a Monster Hunter Hollywood movie is in production. Tsujimoto was quoted as saying “While it isn’t related to Stories, there is a Hollywood movie adaptation of the main series in progress.”
No other details were given, but seeing as he specifically referred to it as a Hollywood movie, it’s a safe bet that one of the major studios is involved if the rights have already been picked up.
This is certainly intriguing news, so we’ll be keeping our ears open for more.
