Jackie Earle Haley to Climb Stephen King’s Dark Tower?
Since the release of the Nightmare on Elm Street remake, we’ve always felt kind of bad for Jackie Earle Haley. He was a great choice to pick up the mantle for the nightmarish franchise, but unfortunately his casting was the ONLY good decision made during that big screen atrocity.
The good news is Deadline is reporting that Haley is negotiations for a co-starring role opposite Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey in The Dark Tower. Also, for those of you that are fans, Haley has also been cast in the upcoming reboot of The Tick for Amazon in which he will play “The Terror,” a powerful super villain and the leader of the evil league in the comics.
The Dark Tower, co-written and directed by Nikolej Arcel, is based on the Stephen King novels, with Akiva Goldman, Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, and Erica Huggins producing. If signed, Haley will play Sayre, a menacing humanoid who is the vampire leader and kowtows to no one.
