Demonic Goat Scares Away Homeowners in The Gasp Menagerie

This year’s indie horror darling The Witch introduced us to what is probably the most famous goat in history: Black Phillip.  The representation of evil in the film has captured the imaginations of horror fans and even spawned a mostly unofficial Twitter account.

Now, however, a report courtesy of the Daily Star in the UK says a mother of one in Essex has been forced to sell her cottage after a variety of spooky phenomena… including an attack by a demonic black goat!

Captured in the picture below, the goat is said to have been photographed on the security cameras set up on the property.  Vanessa Mitchell, the owner, claims she was pushed over when she was pregnant with her son several years ago.  Visions of dark shadows looming over her son, pools of blood, and other generally nasty events over the last few years convinced Mitchell that the cottage was haunted.

Satanic goat?

According to the report, it turns out the cottage, nicknamed “The Cage,” was also part of the witch hunts of old as well as a place plague victims were sent to die.

The events were enough for Mitchell to seek the help of mediums, all to no avail.  The appearance of the “goat” in the video was apparently the last straw, and she now seeks to sell the cottage and move out.

Personally, even with the highlighting, I don’t see a goat, but Black Phillip is crafty.  Has this cottage in Essex been visited by a demon goat similar to the now-legendary Black Phillip?  Has this goat demon attacked the woman and been a consistently dark presence for years?  Am I the only one desperate for someone to cut together a music video from The Witch for “Sucker for the Witch” off the latest Clutch album?
