Best Horror Chase Scenes to Get Your Summertime Motor Runnin’

default-featured-image

It’s almost summer… that time when we look at ourselves in the mirror and scream in horror as we think of putting on that bikini or, God help us, that tangerine Speedo. It’s time for that dreaded workout program, folks!  Weightlifting, aerobics, eating healthy, etc.

One of the hardest parts of getting in shape is keeping your motivation going, especially if you are trying to do it on your own.  So what you need is a workout buddy.  You know, someone to get you moving and keep you motivated, make that adrenaline start to pump, and make those calories burn!

Speaking of motivation, maybe these guys on this list can get you motivated.  After all, you never know when you’ll have a psychotic, bloodthirsty serial killer chasing after you.  That’s a reason to work out if I’ve ever heard of one, and if you survive, you’re going to feel fantastic!

Here are just a few of our favorite chase scenes in horror films in no particular order.

Chase

28 Weeks Later (2007)

Nothing is going to motivate you more than rabid, bloodthirsty crazies chasing after you.  I don’t care what size you are, you’re going to run… and run fast to get away!  You’re going to work those legs like never before, and the burn is so going to be worth it.

The Shining (1980)

If you have parents who are motivaters, why not have them help you out with that workout?  Just look at Danny run, and not only is he a fast runner, but he’s a smart little guy as well.  Smart and quick.  He’s a winner!

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)

I find that any time you can get a trainer to run after you with a chainsaw is always a good workout, don’t you?  Watch out, though… you may get other people motivated if you’re not careful.

I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997)

Not only does Helen’s workout buddy have her running, but he’s got her working her arms, legs, and core as well. Not to mention he seems to also be teaching her a self-defense course in case of an attack.

Death Proof (2007)

Not only is this scene intense, but it’s also a pretty nifty way to get in that workout! Any time you tie yourself to the front of a car and get chased by a manic is a great way to work that core.  Balance is key.

These are just a few of our favorite motivational chase scenes, but there are many more.  Let us know your favorites in the comments below, and good luck on getting that beach body!
