To say that we’re big fans of The Scream Factory is a bit of an understatement as these cats are pumping out high quality Blu-rays and DVDs of some of the most hard to find horror flicks around. That trend continues with their latest announcement… The Video Dead!

The label broke the news on its Facebook page…

“The much-demanded THE VIDEO DEAD (1987) — with zombies that come out of a TV set — is finally coming out in 2013.”

While they didn’t get into specifics, it’s nice to know the flick is officially on its way. Written and directed by Robert Scott, The Video Dead stars Michael St. Michaels, Rocky Duvall, Diane Hadley, Roxanna Augesen, and Jennifer Miro.

Synopsis
An unlabelled crate from an unknown source is delivered to a house in the woods. The homeowner unwisely accepts the delivery, only to discover it contains a TV set that starts spewing giggling zombies all over the place. When a new family moves into the now-abandoned house, the son discovers the haunted television and is soon told what he needs to do to send the zombies back where they belong. Knowing and doing, however, are two very different things, and the zombies are not likely to go quietly.
