When you direct a film like 2007’s The Orphanage, you immediately have my interest for all future projects. Up next from Spanish filmmaker Juan Antonio Bayona is an adaption of the novel A Monster Calls, and the cast for this one includes Liam Neeson. On tap today is your first tease.

The cast also includes Lewis MacDougall, Felicity Jones, Toby Kebbell, and Sigourney Weaver. A Monster Calls was written by Patrick Ness, based on his award-winning children’s fantasy novel.
Synopsis:
Twelve-year-old Conor (MacDougall) attempts to deal with his mother’s (Jones) illness and the bullying of his classmates by escaping into a fantastical world of monsters and fairy tales that explore courage, loss, and faith.
