The first of three planned sequels to Prometheus was recently titled Alien: Paradise Lost, suggesting that it will unquestionably tie into the Alien universe. Ridley Scott is returning to direct, and while he prepares to do just that, he revealed some plot details this week. Read on for the latest.

In an interview with Awards Campaign, Scott revealed that the cameras are set to begin rolling next March on what will likely become a three-part prequel to the Alien franchise. It has already been confirmed that the sequel will pick up where Prometheus left off, centered on David and Elizabeth.

It’s going to be its own separate thing because they are going to the planet of the Engineers and they are going to see what happened there,” Scott noted. “It was a disaster. And they will be in that alien craft that takes them there, but with a new group that’s incoming, a new group of travelers in the beginning of the first act.”

Both Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace are expected to reprise their roles.

Alien: Paradise Lost is currently set for a May 30, 2017 release.
