Chainsaw Doc, South Texas Blues, Goes to Print

There’s been lots of documentation relating to Tobe Hooper’s classic film The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, but nothing as unique as Christopher Garetano’s South Texas Blues — the TCM making-of graphic novel.

Shock Till You Drop nabbed a couple of panels (one below, hit the link for the other) for your perusal, and I gotta say I dig ’em.

STB is based on the true story of the filming of TCM during the summer of 1973 and is told through the mind of “Tobe”, an obsessed filmmaker.

Garetano has spent the last two years researching and writing South Texas Blues and is currently developing it as a feature film. Artist Trevor Cook has adapted Garetano’s original screenplay for use in the graphic novel, and legendary comic book artist Steve Bissette (Swamp Thing) will be doing the cover. Look for this bad boy in October.
