Ron Perlman Wants Hellboy 3, Launches Twitter Campaign

Like many of us, Ron Perlman wants Hellboy 3 to happen. Unfortunately, unless someone drops a sizeable amount of money in Guillermo del Toro’s lap, that probably isn’t going to happen anytime soon. However, that isn’t stopping Perlman from trying his best to make the third installment a reality.

The actor’s latest campaign involves getting #HellboyIII to trend on Twitter. Perlman recently took to Twitter to rally fans around the cause. Unfortunately, the hashtag isn’t trending in the US as of this writing. Of course, that doesn’t mean this campaign won’t start snowballing. If you have any hope of Hellboy 3 hitting the big screen at some point in the future, then you need to get this party started.

Not surprisingly, Perlman has a lot of support.

Unfortunately, Hellboy 3 isn’t in the cards at the moment. During a Reddit AMA back in 2014, Guillermo del Toro admitted that the third installment probably wouldn’t happen.

[W]e have gone through basically every studio and asked for financing, and they are not interested. I think that the first movie made its budget back, and a little bit of profit, but then it was very very big on video and DVD. The story repeated itself with the second already, it made its money back at the box office, but a small margin of profit in the release of the theatrical print, but was very very big on DVD and video. Sadly now from a business point of view all the studios know is that you don’t have that safety net of the DVD and video, so they view the project as dangerous.

Hellboy fans, unite! If you’d love to see Hellboy 3 happen, then do your part and get #HellboyIII trending on Twitter. Who knows? Maybe a studio will actually take notice.
