We’ve had it with Hollywood and their remakes. Thankfully, so have a lot of indie filmmakers out there, which means there are plenty of great titles that are coming out of nowhere. One film that we’ve had our eye on is the quirky horror-comedy Smash Cut directed by Lee Demarbre (Jesus Christ: Vampire Hunter) and starring David Hess, Michael Berryman, and adult starlet/Steven Soderbergh actress Sasha Grey.

Inspired by the career of Herschell Gordon Lewis, Smash Cut follows failing B-movie director Able Whitman (Hess) who sets out to make a name for himself by creating the ultimate horror movie – no matter what the cost.

Demarbre was cool enough to provide Dread with several exclusive photos that really hype the eccentric, offbeat nature of the film. No word on a release date, but keep it here for more updates as we get them.
