Film editor Nicholas Monsour is no stranger to working with Jordan Peele. He first met Peele while working on the sketch comedy series Key and Peele. From there, he worked on Keanu, Us, and now Peele’s latest film Nope. In short, Monsour is responsible for helping create the spectacle on display in Peele’s newest genre entry.

Nope is Peele’s take on the big summer blockbuster while telling a story about Hollywood, respect, and a strange alien-like creature nicknamed Jean Jacket. It’s exactly the kind of story only someone like Peele can execute. And with Monsour, Peele could make that story come to life.

Dread Central sat down with Monsour to talk THAT scene in Nope, how he met Jordan Peele, and more.

Nope is available now on Peacock.
