All Of The Horror Streaming For Free On Pluto TV This Halloween

Flatliners Pluto TV

Pluto TV is one of the best free streaming services for horror fans. Not only do they have a whole channel dedicated to streaming horror movies 24/7, but they also kindly keep so many terrifying titles on demand. Because this costs zero dollars, I spend a lot of time on the app. I am always trying to convert people to step out on other free apps like Tubi. In this listicle, I will show you what that streamer has in store for us this Halloween month.

Off the bat, the additions Pluto TV is making this month are beautiful. The Exorcism Of Emily RoseLake PlacidIdle Hands, and the Urban Legend trilogy are there for those in my generation feeling nostalgic for our misspent youth. Flatliners is also there for those who need the receipts to back us up when we tell folks Julia Roberts did a horror movie with Kevin Bacon and Kiefer Sutherland. I need to rewatch this because I was too young to notice Oliver Platt and Beth Grant were also in the movie. That is just the tip of the horror iceberg, so let us get into it all, shall we?

The Forsaken (2001)

A man on a road trip accidentally stumbles into a war against vampires. I used my $3 to rent this movie on pay-per-view as a kid and immediately added it to the reasons y’all need to stop sleeping on Kerr Smith. Because I haven’t seen it since then, I have only had vague memories to keep me company all these years. I plan to pull up to Pluto TV immediately for these vampire shenanigans.

Overlord (2018)

The few surviving American soldiers stumble across an unexpected horror on the eve of D-Day. This movie is messy and fun. Which is sometimes a very nice palate cleanser when you watch as much horror as most of us do. I’m also here for anything that casts Jovan Adepo as a leading man. The movie gives me Bloodrayne (the video game, not the movie) vibes mixed with those war movies I typically avoid. However, this one time, it works for me, and I want more people to see it so I can talk about it.

Sleepwalkers (1992)

A strange mother and son are on the hunt for a virgin to feast on. I remember watching this movie a ton as a kid and always being scandalized about what this mother and son were getting up to. However, most other plot points have evaded me over the years. I owe this Stephen King movie another rewatch now that I’m braced for the WTF of it all. Luckily, Pluto TV is letting me do that so I can have more to add to conversations when it comes up.

When A Stranger Calls (1979)

A killer plays games with a babysitter and then tracks her down seven years later. The first 21 and a half minutes of this movie are flawless. This was the horror film that taught me the genre was supposed to be scary, and I have been chasing that same high my whole life. The older I get, the more I warm to the rest of the movie. However, that opener still gets under my skin today, and I rewatch it often to help get my mind off my problems. Carol Kane, Charles Durning, and Tony Beckley are all at the top of their game. This is my favorite movie hitting any streamer this month.

The Woman In Black (2012)

A young man discovers an angry ghost is terrorizing a small town. I’m here for women who aren’t letting their grudges die with them. I’m raising a glass and yelling, “Yassss, girl” as she does what she needs to do. I am also fully invested in society discussing more of Daniel Radcliffe’s adult roles. He deserves more respect for these out-of-the-box choices. We also have to stop talking about She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named every time he comes up.
