What Do You Think Will Be the Official Title of the New Halloween Movie?

Later this year we will (finally) be hit with the newest film in the Halloween series, and I don’t know about you but I have super impressed with all the bits and pieces I have seen thus far.
But one question keeps knocking at the back of my mind, and I felt like sharing it with you guys here today, maybe together we can come up with an answer: What the hell are they going to officially call this new Halloween movie!?
I know we’ve seen artwork that calls the film simply Halloween, but what are the chances that the film sticks with that title alone? Slim, I’d say. After all, we already have Halloween (1978) and Halloween (2007), do we really need Halloween (2019)? Come on, Blumhouse, let’s be a bit more creative than that.
Oh, and while we’re on the subject, do you think Blumhouse really has the balls to call the film Blumhouse’s Halloween? I think they just might. That’s my second choice. Anyhow, with all of this in mind, what do we think will be the final, official title of the new Halloween movie? We have some ideas. Some good, some bad, and some straight silly.
Let’s see what we come up with.
Let’s start with the title that we think will be the go-to: Halloween Returns. Clean and simple. Works well. But wasn’t this the title of Marcus Dunstan’s abandoned Halloween sequel? Yes, it was. Maybe that will keep Blumhouse from using this title. We’ll see. They could also call it Next Halloween, no problem. But this would create an issue with filing the films alphabetically later on. Don’t know if they’ll care about that though.
Moving on, one thing to keep in mind about this upcoming Halloween sequel is that the filmmakers are really striving to make the film as much of a sequel to the original John Carpenter classic as possible. Meaning it makes sense that they would want to go with something like Halloween 2. But, sh*t. That name’s already taken. How about Halloween II. Dammit. Taken as well.
So do we really think they’ll go with something like Halloween Two? Not likely at all. But maybe they will go with something like Halloween Part 2, or Halloween Part II. This is a very real possibility. Good odds on this one.
Or maybe the will go the route of something like Logan or Jigsaw and give the film a title which is synonymous with the Halloween franchise but jettisons the official name. Such as The Shape, Michael Myers, or Haddonfield. I’m not a fan of most of those, but I have to say that I do like the title Haddonfield. It has a ring to it. And unlike Next Halloween would fit well on the shelf next to the other Halloween films.
All of those actual possible titles out of the way, how about we make up some silly titles that we can only hope and pray they don’t use? Just for fun. Let’s do it. How about Halloween: Michael Takes Manhattan? Or Halloween: Michael Lives!, or Halloween in Space!, or best one yet, Halloween: Age of Ultron.
Hahaha. But seriously, as long as they don’t call it Halloween: Bloodline(s) we’ll be good. Please don’t call it Halloween: Bloodline(s). Please. Heaven help us.
But in the end, I’m going to say that my top picks for the new Halloween title are: Halloween Returns, Blumhouse’s Halloween, and Halloween Part 2 and/or Halloween Part II.

Halloween ??? is directed by David Gordon Green based on a script he wrote with Danny McBride. Jamie Lee Curtis returns as Laurie Strode as does Nick Castle as Michael “The Shape” Myers. They are joined by Will Patton, Andi Matichak, and Judy Greer. Halloween creator John Carpenter is on board as executive producer as well as the composer.
The anticipated release date is October 19, 2018.
