Tommy Wirkola

Director Tommy Wirkola is one of the top horror directors to keep tabs on. From Dead Snow to Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters to his most recent Netflix original film What Happened To Monday? Wirkola has more than earned his genre stripes.

And so we’re excited to hear via Deadline that Blumhouse is in talks to finance his new thriller Intruders from and producers Adam McKay and Kevin Messick.

You can check out the chilling synopsis below and an interview with the director regarding his underappreciated horror-comedy Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters.

Wirkola will direct the film based on his original screenplay and the film is heading into a summer production start date.

Synopsis:

A mother escapes her abusive husband and takes her young daughter toward refuge in a secluded home, only to be assailed by intruders hungry for the gold that’s supposedly buried in the house.
