Tim Curry or Bill Skarsgard: Who’s the Best PENNYWISE?

Tim Curry played Pennywise in director Tommy Lee Wallace’s 1990 miniseries adaptation of King’s massive novel. He co-starred with Richard Thomas, John Ritter, Annette O’Toole, Harry Anderson, Dennis Christopher, Tim Reid, Richard Masur, Jonathan Brandis, Brandon Crane, Adam Faraizl, Seth Green, Ben Heller, Emily Perkins, and Marlon Taylor.

Meanwhile, Bill Skarsgard played the dancing clown in Andy Muschietti’s 2017 take. His co-stars included Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan, James Ransone, Andy Bean, Jaeden Martell, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Wyatt Oleff.

For those that might not know, IT is Stephen King’s 22nd book. The story follows the experiences of seven children as they are terrorized by an evil entity that exploits the fears of its victims to disguise itself while hunting its prey. “It” primarily appears in the form of Pennywise the Dancing Clown to attract its preferred prey of young children.
