The Most-Viewed Horror Movie Trailer On YouTube This Week Has Fans “All-In”

With countless new items added every week, it’s easy for horror fans to get excited about all the new trailers added to YouTube. This is why so many promos for films in the genre end up becoming viral memes and gifs. As usual, the creepiest trailers are getting the most clicks this week. And the top dog is definitely worth checking out.

According to Flixpatrol, almost six million people have viewed the first trailer for The Pope’s Exorcist.

In the film, Father Gabriele Amorth, chief exorcist for the Vatican, battles Satan and innocent-possessing demons. A detailed portrait of a priest who performed more than 100,000 exorcisms in his lifetime.

This supernatural horror movie is based on the book An Exorcist Tells His Story and An Exorcist: More Stories by Gabriele Amorth. The book is allegedly based on a true story. 

The Pope’s Exorcist is directed by Julius Avery. The screenplay was written by Michael Petroni and Evan Spiliotopoulos. It stars Russell Crowe, Franco Nero, Alex Essoe, and the voice of Ralph Ineson.

We’re not surprised this is the number one trailer this week, seeing how Twitter has been waiting for more information on this project. Russell Crowe stans and religious horror fans have finally found a common ground.
