Late Night with Conan O’Brien and NBC/Universal

Stephen King is no stranger to horror TV shows or a little self-promotion. This is why it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the author took to Twitter to recommend this 2021 AppleTV+ miniseries he wrote. King thinks July might be the perfect time to binge Lisey’s Story.

Rotten Tomatoes Synopsis

Lisey’s Story is a deeply personal, pensive thriller that follows Lisey Landon two years after the death of her husband, famous novelist Scott Landon. A series of unsettling events causes Lisey to face memories of her marriage to Scott that she has deliberately blocked out of her mind.

Lisey’s Story is adapted from the 2006 Stephen King novel of the same name. It was directed by Pablo Larrain. King wrote all 8 episodes. It stars Julianne Moore, Clive Owen, Joan Allen, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Sung Kang, and Ron Cephas Jones.

I’m a little obsessed with this cast, and still paying for AppleTV+ for some reason. So, I might see if Stephen is right about July being the time to watch his show. After all, who would know if the show is a sweet scary summer baby better than the guy who wrote it?

If you’re still unsure about committing to this 8 episode series, see if the trailer below can sway you to the dark side.
