Work on R.I.P.D. Continues
Dark Horse founder Mike Richardson talked to reporters recently and revealed that work on R.I.PD. is moving along well, with Wedding Crashers helmer David Dobkins in the directing chair according to Sci Fi Wire.
The film was first announced back in March, but since little has been said. Richardson confirmed they’re working hard on it, but didn’t give any specific timelines as to when the project might be ready to roll. He did, however, give a good idea of the film’s overall tone; ”It has a few of the elements of something like a Men in Black, except this one has real scares in it. It's not sort of a cartoon scares. A lot of humor, but real scary stuff going on."
The title is an acronym for Rest in Peace Department, a division of the police that consists of cops killed in the line of duty who are tasked with bringing in those who don’t want to cross over peacefully.
Richardson promised news on more Dark Horse titles soon, but was able to confirm the work on both Emily the Strange and Freaks of the Heartland films is ongoing.
