Wii Whips it With Castlevania

Less Mario and ... (Not Safe For Work!)How the Nintendo Wii remains such a dominant force in the gaming community is beyond me. If you look down the line of games, there’s a pretty good track record of party games, Mario-centric titles and some glorified Gamecube ports. How about we get something that will actually feel like it was meant for the Wii? If I am going to look like an idiot swinging the Wii-mote around, then at least give me something worth playing.

While we’re still waiting on the ability to swing a lightsaber, the next best thing would be whipping some vampire ass … as a Belmont!

Konami is looking to bring the classic franchise to the Big N’s popular system with Castlevania Judgment, a title that “bridges the past with the present as it pits several generations of the Belmont clan against a host of characters that span the franchise’s 22-year history.” Players will be able to whip, slash and stab their way across this new 3D Castlevania title. Finally!

The game, due out sometime this fall, will have the ability to connect with the DS title Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. Players will also be able to compete head-to-head via the Wii’s wi-fi connection, though it has not been mentioned if this will be free or part of the “pay for play” service.
