Whedon Talks Cabin Start Date
It’s not a huge update by any means, but anytime I get a chance to talk about Joss Whedon here on the site, especially in relation to the horror movie he co-wrote with Drew Goddard, Cabin in the Woods, I will take it. So you’ll just have to deal with it!
Whedon told Sci Fi Wire recently that he recently met with United Artists president Tom Cruise to discuss Tom’s take on Cabin in the Woods, but didn’t say what that take actually was. Hopefully Cruise didn’t find some way to convince Joss to slip in some Scientology to the final shooting script...
Cabin in the Woods rolls this March, and still we are no closer to knowing what it will be about than we were when the project was first announced. Phooey. Drew Goddard will be making his directorial debut on Cabin; keep it here for more tidbits as they fall to us!

All right, it’s been a long, hard road but finally our celebrity judges have settled on the winners in our “8 Shorts to Die For” short film competition, brought to you by After Dark Films! The winning video, the creator of which will be receiving a 120G Video iPod pre-loaded with previous Horrorfest entries, is MJ Dixon’s “Eye Spy”! Huge congrats to Dixon, now dig the movie below!

As much as I like Whedon, I can no longer muster up any excitement for these projects because all we're ever given is a title.

I highly doubt that Tom Cruise could make Joss Whedon slip any Scientology in the script. Whedon is a self-admitted angry atheist, but he likes the Catholic themes or redemption. And Whedon really doesn't like bucking to other people's ideas after what happened on the original Buffy movie and "Alien Resurrection".
