Uni has snapped up the rights to the Oni Press graphic novel series The Last Call, with Barry Josephson on board to produce the film version, according to Variety.
Written by Vasilis Lolos, The Last Call centers on two kids hit by a train. Not a real train, mind you, but a soul train, a locomotive that runs between dimensions bringing souls to and fro. They find themselves stuck with no ticket to speak of and have to figure out a way to get home before they’re trapped forever.
Evan Spiliotopoulos, who penned the upcoming Barry Sonnenfield film The Box (no relation to the Richard Kelly film, this one’s about Pandora’s Box) is scribbling out the script for Universal. No director has been named yet.
You can check out a 38-page preview of The Last Call over on the Oni Press site, if you’re curious and want to know more about it, and keep it on Dread for updates as they come down!
