UK Shocker Mum & Dad Lands Distro
The news came down via Variety this morning that Mum & Dad, one of those new British film that we keep hearing about but have yet to actually see, has been snapped up for distribution by Revolver Entertainment for release in the UK, Ireland and the U.S.
Steven Sheil’s Mum & Dad tells of a very sick suburban family who work at the airport and live off whatever they can scavenge from the cargo holds. They also have a nasty habit of abducting transients and torturing them for kicks, and the film's about one Polish woman whose only option is to become part of the family or die.
Mum & Dad is one of a group of films that were made under Film London’s Microwave, a project set up to make commercially viable films for less than $200K; so far it seems like a pretty successful experiment.
No word on Revolver’s release plans for it yet, of course, but as soon as we hear more, we’ll pass it on!

Man, I really dig this show. Yeah, it takes me between six and nine hours to get there and back, which means I really need to start going down a day early, but it’s worth it to hang out at one of the best-run and most well-attended conventions on the East Coast.
